I bought some pretty tulip bulbs for a school fundraiser in the fall and never got around to planting them. Is there some way of tricking them into thinking they've been in the ground for the winter, like putting them in the freezer for a while and then planting them outside?

Where did you store them? I had a bag of them stored outside in the shed (so it was cool at least) and last spring threw them in a pot last minute and they bloomed. But I suspect if they've been stored in your nice warm house that may not work.

If they are starting to sprout now, plant them in the ground ASAP. They should start to grow in the ground and bloom. I had some bulbs in the garage that I just did that with and they are growing along with the ones that I did plant in the fall.

They were nice and warm inside the house all winter, unfortunately!

What the heck... give it a try! Maybe it will work, and if not, oh well... what have you lost?
