Just a reminder - if your car horn goes off at 4:20 am for 10 minutes (and then again for long periods over the next two hours), there's a simple solution.

Take the fuse out for the horn and wait until a decent hour to try fixing it.

Being awakened for the 5th time in less than 2 hours is not cool.

    Ugh.

Maybe when they're up taking out the fuse as you instructed they can come over to Tatertown and take the fuse out of my cat. His alarm started going off at 3am!

Here's hoping we both get naps.

That is just plain inconsiderate! Was this a stupid car alarm? or just a malfunctioning horn?

It was my neighbor across the street whose car horn was going off. Before anyone crucifies them, her husband just had major knee surgery this weekend and couldn't get up to help her. I got up to see what I could do. They had some work done on their car and something went awry. My friend was beside herself in the street trying to figure out what to do. Needless to say, that she nor I didn't know even where a car horn fuse would be in the dark at 4:30 in the am (we know nothing about cars). She turned the car on, and anytime she went to touch the key, the horn would go off again. I suggested to her to move the car onto her driveway which is at an incline and maybe the change of movement would help. Apparently it did, and they had the car towed today to take it back to the shop that goofed it up!

Apologies on her behalf. She was mortified!!!!

wow- you are a GREAT neighbor to get up in the middle of the night to help her!

the good thing about this board in THIS case is that it helped shed light on what would have been an annoyance stuck in someone's craw, but now has been explained as an unfortunate circumstance. thanks soccer-

Could have happened to any of us. I felt so sorry for her. She was feeling so helpless! She kept apologizing and apologizing, but I said it was out of her control. Life happens!
