Hi All, until our Website is back up I thought I would use this venue to remind you to GET INVOLVED to keep HCA out. If you are interested in getting involved and are not on our email list, please get in touch with me to let me know. Dmfortier@erols.com.

Thanks, Donna! It is good to see another perspective on this site. In reading through it, I was beginning to think that just a very vocal minority of pro-HCA posters were on here.

Look up the registration info for the new anti-hospital web site. The Registrant is "The Anti-Hospital Minority." So, guess they must be conceding the majority of the community is for the hospital or pro-hospital...

Greg, that was a joke. We are very comfortable in knowing we are the majority. We used that as a quote from the HCA supporters.

Sorry GC, you are so wrong. I think you will be shocked to learn
the huge "following" in Loudoun County against an HCA hospital in Broadlands.

It does not matter who is in the majority or minority here. We all have a right to our own opinions and frankly, I do not feel that I personally have the right to speak for all residents of Broadlands as to what "they" want in their neighborhood. What do you base your statement that the anti-hospital is in the minority on? How do you really</u> know?

This seems to be becoming a very bitter war between people who just want what is best for the community. Yes, we have differing opinions, but does it have to get nasty? There is really no need for it to be this way.

Farscape: You are correct in that no one can really prove whether the majority of residents are for or against the hospital. All any of us can base our assumptions on is our own personal findings in talking to neighbors and others in the community. That is what I use as a basis for my opinion that the anti-hospital group is a minority.

As far as the "bitterness" between the differing groups (lets not call it a war). I don't think any of my comments have been of that tone and I would say that there are more "nasty" comments from the anti-hospital posters. I am very frustrated at the misinformation, fear tactics, and lies of some of those who are in opposition. I received an email last year from one opposition member who said that "when their child is killed by a speeding ambulance, their blood would be on my hands" ( I am paraphrasing). All I have ever asked anyone on either side is to look at the facts and use those as your support for your arguement. Look back through the comments and see what I am talking about.

vweisenburg, I in no way meant that you said anything that seemed bitter. I sincerely apologize if you felt that I did. You have friendly posts, and I never felt that anything but basic facts came from them. I just saw some posts, in general</u>, on both sides, that seemed to be snarky to each other.

The only reason I used the word ‘war’ was because of some recent comments that made it seem that it was getting a bit out of hand, in terms of nastiness. I really hate to see people be this way, as it just seems so childish and we all just want what is best.

In terms of how the assumptions are made, most of the neighbors I have spoken with are not in favor of the hospital. So with that information, based on personal discussions, it would cancel out your personal findings, as they are both equal. So, I cannot necessarily say either opinion is a majority over the other.

I never said the anti-hospital people were a minority -- they did in their domain registration. I just mentioned this as their words, not mine.

Greg, I knew someone would look at the registration and see that little tongue-in-cheek jab at you HCA supporters. Recall from earlier posts, we were deemed a "vocal minority". Figured I'd run with it.

Please attempt to make the meeting this Monday, September 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Heritage Hunt High School (just outside of Leesburg). It is a very important meeting. You can sign up to speak if you would like. This might be our last/best opportunity to speak publicly about our oppostion against HCA. This is a meeting in front of the HSA (Health Systems Agency) panel. Remember they send their recommendation down to Richmond where the final decision is made.
