Van Meter is clearing a large parcel of land located between St Theresas and the Greenway overpass. Sign just says something about storm water but gives no indication as to what is being built. A large number of trees have already been removed and a road appears to be under construction. Does anyone know what is going there?

According to the Loudoun County mapping page http://logis.loudoun.gov/weblogis/ (address map 118) it is zoned PDH3. Overland Park, which is directly across from it, has the same zoning.

I thought I saw a sign maybe 8 years ago or so for active adult units. The map shows a court there with a possible other court/street off of it.

It is my understanding that they have subdivided the land into three section. One (closest to the Greenway) will eventually house an office building. One (closest to the exit ramp at Claiborne) is proffered to the county and may be baseball fields while the county decides how to develop it and the third (the one that is currently being cleared) has been or will be sold off to St. Teresa's for a parking lot and possibly a support
    building.

It is really sad to see the clear cut and, taking a close look at what has been cleared so far, it appears that they've actually bulldozed over a creek bed. I just hope they're only clearing what has been approved through the county and not "asking forgiveness instead of permission".

St. Theresa's bought a portion of this parcel and is expanding.

Glad to hear this. Always thought there was a hazard in having folks park along Broadlands there because the existing lot was full.

I'm not certain that folks park along Broadlands Blvd because the lot is full. It may be to make a quick escape after mass.

I totally agree. The lot is not full before the street parking starts.
