Comcast Sports Package

    Did anyone else order the new Comcast SEP (Sports Entertainment Package)? I ordered it and on Saturday it arrived as promised with the new channel lineup, however missing three of the ten or so channels. 262-264 (Fox College Sports) still show as unauthorized despite three calls to customer service claiming they should be on. Now they want to send a tech out to confirm my three boxes are good and that I have proper signal levels, despite the fact I am getting perfect quality HD (which would show clear signs if there were signal issues). Anyhow it's clear they still don't have their poop in order still. Unfortunately it is mainly these stations I want and could almost care less about the rest (yes even NFL network). I assume this is not just me and if so I'd like to know so I can call back and tell them such.

    Yes, we ordered it, and it's working perfectly fine. No problems at all.

    Just to confirm, you actually receive the Fox College Sports channels and not the friendly black screen plus "unauthorized" message? All of the other SEP channels work for me, it is just these specifically that are an issue.

    262: Fox College Sports Atlantic
    263: Fox College Sports Central
    264: Fox College Sports Pacific

    Comcast clearly doesn't know what they're doing. Our ON DEMAND does not work at all, can't order any movies. It was working perfectly fine a month ago and now can't order anything. After three calls to their service, they said they'd have to send someone out to check out the boxes. Arranged yesterday between 6 & 9. Technician called us and asked what our problem was yet again. My husband explained the whole thing and he said "oh well - that can be done at the Master computer. DOH - We always thought that - but someone answering the phone THREE DIFFERENT people can't seem to understand that. Anyway - he said he would straighten out - we plan to see if it works tonight - it better - or we will not be happy at all. Grrrrr...

    Yep. We ordered the Comcast Sports Entertainment Package, and the channels you asked about above are coming through fine. You might even say that it's Comcastic! (Isn't that their marketing term?) Sorry it's not working for you. Few things are worse than ordering something and not getting your $$$'s worth.

    Thanks for confirming. At least now I know it is possibly something specific to my service and not everyone's.

    be warned, as they add a lot of services and additional channels.. alot of the tolerances get tighter for signal strength, etc.. some channels will come in, while others do not. I'm not saying this is your problem (due to unauthorized vs not available) but something to watch for other folks. Channels that worked before, may not work now, etc

    Absolutely. When they changed from Adelphia to Comcast I magically lost internet and all HD stations. After checking the cable modem info I determined the signal level decreased a lot, going just below the acceptable level for internet (and I assumed this was the issue with HD as well). I had a cascaded 2-way splitter in use that I replaced with a single 4-way and that resolved all. This time however the signal levels are well within tolerance so I believe it's an access list or similar issue with these channels and not signal strength. My current plan is just to call back every few days until I get the right person on the phone to fix it. With NCAA football starting next week though I am missing some great preseason shows.

    It seems they don't have the OnDemand setup quite right.

    I have been having OnDemand problems too.

    I click OnDemand, then scroll down to Free Movies!, then choose All Movies A-L, then if I select one of the movies (for example Airport '77) and click watch it says its only available as part of a package.

    If I try to view package information it says E3110 Initializing. Please try again in 5 minutes.

    Does anyone else have this problem?

    See my post earlier - that's what we're having too.....although our message says "not aurthorized....no one can explain what the problem is.

    This has been a problem with many from day one and Comcast's front people seem to be in the twilight zone on this and so are the people they send to your home or they been told to lie flat out lie. Pick the one you think it is ha ha ha From what I have heard they have a major problem with the code system they set up. Believe me they know they have a major problem but have tried to keep us ignorant and misinformed to what really the problem is and why they have not resolved it.

    This morning channels 262-264 miraculously started working for me, and only a couple days after I told Comcast to cancel their planned tech visit and to cancel my subscription to the sports plan as I'd had enough.
