Pack up the dogs and the kids and come on down to The Canine Country Jamboree on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at the Leesburg Canine Country Club for a day of mischief and mayhem for you and your furry family.

Sponsored by The Leesburg Canine Country Club and Dog Gone Natural, The Jamboree will benefit the Northern Virginia Spay/Neuter Alliance and Clinic (NOVA-SNAC)—a program of the S.P.C.A. of Northern Virginia—which is dedicated to ending pet overpopulation by investing in the creation of a regional high-volume, low cost spay and neuter clinic to serve animal shelters, rescue organizations, and low-income pet owners. A single regional high-volume clinic of this kind can sterilize thousands of pets each year and greatly minimize regional shelter intake.

According to Lauren Shifflett, co-owner of the Leesburg Canine Country Club, “We do not need to accept pet overpopulation as inevitable. Investment in widespread sterilization programs is the best answer. We can end pet overpopulation forever.”
The Jamboree will showcase adoptable fuzzy furries from area rescues, country cooking, face painting, games, local pet businesses, arts and crafts, and voter registration. There will also be canine demonstrations by Appalachian Air Canines, Beltway Bandits Flyball, Canine Musical Freestyle Performers, Alpha Schutzhund Training Group, and various other canine groups.

The highlight of the Jamboree will be a live auction offering gym memberships, dinners, gift baskets, canine massage, artwork, golf rounds, and more donated by area businesses.
The Canine Country Jamboree will be held at The Leesburg Canine Country Club, 22025 Evergreen Mills Road, Leesburg, VA 20175 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008. For more information about The Canine country Jamboree and NOVA-SNAC, please visit www.LeesburgCanineCountryClub.com. Leashed dogs welcome! Free Admission! Parking $5.

It is great and so nice to have an area where the dogs that need to have space can have it. We need to get this thread listed as also a dog park, which so many people want to have in the BLAnds area - obviously they don't know about this...Hmm maybe...a doggy...hmm

This is a private dog park. You pay around $145 a year to join.

they have times on Sun and Thurs. that are free open house runs... sounds like a great club for singles with dogs to join- cheaper than a night out at Clyde's! lol

To us it's worth the money. When we got our dog we took her to the public parks in Fairfax county, and after having her peed on a few times and being attacked once and having an overall not so nice experience, we checked out the Leesburg Canine Country Club, and love it. Instead of gravel it's all grass, the dogs are separated by size and the large ones also by temper (chill and rowdy), you know all the dogs had their shots and are healty, and well ... most of the people are nice, even if there are bleeding heart liberals around.

Check it out at the jamboree, come back for an open house, both on a Sunday afternoon and then a Thursday night in the winter when the lighted nightpen is open, and then make up your mind if it is worth the money. For right now, come for the fun and for the good cause.

And if you know of anyone that wants to donate to the good cause, have them send me a private message, we can still use some more donations for the auction. :)

    2. If anyone wonders why I mock the poodle (see pic below). Need I say more?
    3. Time and place and consider the poodle a chew toy

Phit, I think you are meat. Dead. Your picture will probably be in every store in the Broadlands with the poodle in your lap.

This is a vapid post in an obvious clumsy attempt to bump this thread to the top for no reason other than the Jamboree is this Saturday (four days that are getting shorter and shorter).

Oops, I accidently tripped and when I fell I seemed to open this thread and before I could stop myself. I hit the Submit Reply button.

Of course now that the "accidental" post bump has been done, I might as well give people a final reminder that the Canine Country Jamboree is tomorrow.

It is for a very worthy cause. The weather tomorrow is supposed to be great. At the Jamboree where will be great fun and more mirth than you can possibly use. We will be stocking special mirth bags so you can take some of your extra mirth home with you.

For the Canine readers of this forum, I will repeat the message so you can tell your humans about it.

Woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof.
