Have you ever wished you could do something to help in the battle against Breast Cancer? Have you ever considered participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer marathon and a half, but thought you couldn't walk that far or raise all the funds to qualify?

Now you can participate and help the same cause by walking about 2 miles around Ashburn with your family and friends.

Please Join us Saturday, April 12 at 8:30 a.m. (registration begins at 8:00). Minimum donations are $10 for an individual, or $15 for a family. The Mini-Walk begins at the Visitors Center in Brambleton (42645 Regal Wood Dr.) It is a family friendly walk, and dogs and strollers are welcome! All proceeds will go directly to benefit the Avon Foundation for Breast Cancer, and it will also help a team of 35 women here in Ashburn to qualify to participate in the Avon Walk in Washington, D.C. on May 4-5.

We will have food, fun for the kids, and health screenings by INOVA Loudoun Hospital! Pre-register to earn a goody bag from corporate sponsors. To pre-register or pay by credit card, please contact Heather Phillips at (703)542-2482 or Heather@Brambleton.net

This would be my first walk. How does that work. Do you walk in a circle of 2 miles back to the starting point of the walk? Or are you walking 2 miles out, then 2 miles back for your car? Just trying to understand the logistics since I'll have two small children in a double stroller with me. Thanks!

The event is about 2-miles total. There is a map and people who will guide you along the way. It starts at the Brambleton Visitors Center, winds through the neighborhood, and gets you back to the Visitors Center. It is definitely a family friendly course, and there is a way to cut it a little short if you want to.
