Does anyone know where I can get custom interior French doors made? We have a room that we'd like to get French doors for, but the opening is much taller than doors you can get from places like Home Depot, etc. I'd hate to have to lower the opening or otherwise restructure the doorway, if possible.

    Thanks,

    Lisa

I'm surprised that Home Depot or Lowes doesn't have a special order for such doors, but you can try Taft Lumber over by Belfort Furniture on Shaw Road. They do custom millwork, and if they can't do the doors locally, they can probably order them for you.

Sure it is a typo by Neil, but just in case you are not familiar with the area, it is TART Lumber.

    Good Luck!

I believe Home Depot said that they can order the following standard sizes (in height): 80", 84" and 96". Unfortunately, the height of our doorway is between 92"-93". I'd hate to drop the height (as that involves the contractors charging me a lot more for labor), so I'd like to find someplace that would make me custom doors and we'll try to install it ourselves. I'm getting quotes from various contractors who will charge anywhere from 2500 to 4000 to hang these two doors. I'd rather pay for custom doors and do labor myself.

Thanks for the suggest. I'll check them out!!
