Does anyone have a good dermatologist? I went to someone on Pigeon Hill Rd (Medical offices by the Regal movies) and didn't like them. Any recommendations?

I used a dermatologist near the Post Office in Sterling-off Palisades Pkwy (?). While I thought they were very nice, I had to go back three times for them to remove a questionable freckle-I would not recommend them...

I've been going to Douglas Richardson in Sterling for many years. He's good.

I highly recommend Dr. Van Ha in Lansdowne.

I second Dr. Ha. He is the best! We've been seeing him for about 7 years.

Forgot to add though, he is very hard to get into unless you are an established patient. It may be three months until you can get in to see him.

I went to Dr Ha, twice - and both times felt like he just did a 'once over' and he didn't even look at my head/neck area. As I'm on the "6 month plan" due to a past melanoma, I wasn't comfortable with that at all. Unfortunately I still haven't found anyone I feel confident in, and am also looking for recommendations. Ironically, my GP - Dr Wilder at Broadlands Family Practice-does a better skin check than any I've had since moving here.

I have gone to a Dr. Linda Nims in Vienna several times. Very complete exam and she spends lots of time with you. Very concise and knows her stuff.

I've been very happy with Dr. Michael Todd at the Skin Cancer Center of Northern Virginia:

I've lived in Northern Virginia for 17 years and I've probably seen 5 different derms in that time. I love Fair Oaks Skin Care---not convenient to Broadlands, obviously. But it is worth the trip. I see Dr. Mary Mather and I think she is very very good. My issues are mainly acne related, but I mentioned a spot on a toe and she was all over it--she took pictures for comparison and I'm on a follow up plan. I've also been really impressed with their front office staff.

I second Dr. Richardson. My son and I have both been to see him. Me for wart removal and my son for severe acne. Friendly staff and prompt service.
