If one decides to go with dish network, is there any specific HOA guidance regarding placement of the small dish?

There is no requirement to submit an application for approval of a satellite dish that is 39 inches or less, under the Telecommunications Act of 1996.

The guidelines say: based on the required positioning to receive transmissions, antennas/satellite dishes should be placed in an inconspicuous location. However, that is more a request, than anything else.

In other words ... please tell the installer to put it where it can pick up a signal, but won't stick out like a sore thumb. But if there's no other location .. so be it.

More about this on page 11 of the guidelines.
