Looking for any good recommendations for a Internal Medicine doctor in our area. I have one in Alexandria, but seems a long way to drive if I don't feel good.

    Appreciate it!

Sterling Family Practice has a nice male doc, Dr. Leon. Their practice is near the Library in Cascades.
My husband said he was good. I like Sterling Fam. Practice (even though their desk/secretaries are sometimes a little dippy) the doctors are great.
I go to Dr. Sarah Fletcher there. She is very good.

I love Leesburg Sterling Family Practice (Not the same as SK8R's suggestion). They're in the Lansdowne building connected to the hospital. Doctors are wonderful as are the nurses.

I second that! I do not recommend the Ashburn Family Practice (The one off of Claiborne Pkwy across from Giant Food). Ill leave it at that.....:(

When you mention the Ashburn Family Practice do you mean the Broadlands Family Practice Center? I believe they are located at that same corner where Middleburg Bank is.

There are several dr's offices in that center, but the Ashburn one is where Dr. Wilson works. This is the one I am refering to. If the name is now Broadlands family practice, then they have recently changed their name. But the one I have reservations about is Ashburn family practice where Dr. Wilson's office is.
Sorry, forgot there were many Dr.s offices there....

My wife and I use internal medicine associates. Our doctor is DR Graziano. They are located in centreville right by the large movie theater (only about 20 min from ashburn via 50). I've been very happy with them. There is a IMA group closer (I think in reston) but I don't know anything about them.

I use IMA in Reston across from the Town Center - Dr. Samuel Shor or Dr. Ann Eapen. I think the number is 703-709-1119. I've been going to Dr. Shor for more than 10 years, no reservations about either of them except that it was hard to see them during flu season - go figure.

Ashburn Fam Prac and Broadlands Fam Prac are two different groups. Yes, I agree, Dr. Wilson's office (Ashburn Fam Prac) is nutty. The desk staff, nurses and techs there are fruitcakes. I do not know anything about Broadlands Fam Prac.
I like Sterling Fam Prac. Those ladies at the desk are also a little nutty but I can ignore it. The docs and nurses are excellent.

    LOL!! :D
I wasnt going to say that, but you hit the nail on the head. Yes, I left because the support staff and office staff are very immature. They play and joke around all the time. Dress and act unprofessional. In fact, Mrs. Wilson is nuttier than they are if you ever have seen her. Their equipment is way outdated, if it even works. Two seperate occasions I went and their thermometers didnt even work to take my temperature. The only one there worth saying good things about was the younger blonde lady who was a Physicians Assistant. She was very smart and knew her stuff. But there were way too many cons for me to continue going there. I just didnt have that "warm and fuzzy" when I would go and had to continuously come back to treat the same problem. ONce I left and went to this other practice, they treated me and Ive never had to go back for the same problem.

many many moons ago I was a head nurse in a large orthopaedic practice in Maryland/Va.
So, when we went to Dr. Wilson's practice last year for just one visit (because my daughter was sick and they had an opening).
I was shocked and disappointed when we came there. I felt like saying something. They are very sloppy and careless with their
supplies, syringes left around, dirty work areas. If you know anyone considering their practice tell them not to go there.
I have never seen such a mess, granted, I am very picky and I look at everything but this place was a shock.
Also, the tv in the waiting room was on full blast with some cheesy show.
When you choose a medical practice for your family. Look at the work areas everywhere, paperwork and medical supplies should be separate. They should be neat and tidy all the time.
The rooms should be absolutely spotless. All areas should be clean and the staff should be using the sink in the room to wash their hands before they examine you.

    Lansdowne Internal Medicine

    Carolyn Mc Donough Walsh

This is who I ended up with. I based it on who could take my insurance, no filed claims, years in practice, etc..

Anyone go to this practice or heard anything?

The adults in my family go there (Lansdowne Internal Medicine). We aren't sick often, but we've both been pleased with the service. Dr. John Koh was in the practice first before Dr. Walsh joined. I've heard great things about both, but have only visited Dr. Koh. We put up with our previous doctor's office (Herndon Family Medicine) wayyy too long...bad administration, no return phone calls. Dr. Koh's office is very accommodating. Yesterday my husband tried to get in (4 days with the flu) and while they couldn't see him yesterday, they bent over backwards to quickly get a referral to the urgent care and took care of the health insurance issues so he could go immediately.

I also use Lansdowne Internal Medicine with Caolyn Walsh and Dr. Koh. I have also had Lee on a few visits. I have been going to them for about 4 years. It is nice living closer to them. I have nothing but good things to say

Awesome! I am so glad to find people who have actually gone to them - that have good things to say! You always know it's a crapshoot when you are picking a doctor at random.

I saw Dr Walsh last Friday. She was great. She only works part time and has limited hours but I felt like she was very knowledgeable and thorough.

Whenever you are choosing a new doctor, be sure to check them out on http://www.vahealthprovider.com. It is run by the Virginia Board of Medicine and has licensing information. For example, you can see that the Drs. Wilson have twice been cited by the Board.

I have no idea where you saw Christine Wilson as being cited, see below under what I found.
