Can someone recommend a good nail clipper for a 75-lb dog?

    TIA.

Do you mean a person who clips nails or a nail clipper you can buy to use yourself?

Oh, I wasn't clear, was I? A nail clipper I could use on my dog. She's not much for car rides, so I could not take her to Petco. But. I'm really tempted.

Thank you - something for me to consider. I should really start taking her on short drives.....

we bought that attachment for our dremel tool. I think it is called the pedicure or something.

We won't use anything else. It took us about a week to get the dog used to the sound but after that she tolerates it very well.

I have the "peticure", but my dog tolerates it for 10 seconds and then no more. How did you "train" your dog to stay while you give her the "peticure"? TIA.

First we spent a week, just having her lay down and be petted while the dremel tool was running. We did not use it on her. We wanted to get her to associate the noise with attention and belly rubs.

Although I have used it on my dog by myself, it works much better when I am grinding and Marianne is petting and talking to the dog.

Unlike the commercials, our dog does not enjoy the experience, but she tolerates it for the 2 minutes it takes.

I actually think the tool works better to maintain the dog's nails. Perhaps you should take your dog to a good place; have her nails cut by a professional and then use the tool twice a week to maintain the length.

The Pedicure does generate heat so if you try to shorten the nails in one session, the dog may experience some pain. A very short session every few days is much better than one big session once a week.
