What a bunch of soft, limp-wristed, weak cry babies this country has become! Get these unacceptable and pathetic programs out of our schools and get back to the focus of math & science. Our country has become the laughing stock of the entire world. It is being ruined by the self-serving, selfish, radical left that is giving this country a weak and "running scared" reputation. This idiotic garbage Challenge day junk is another way to manipulate our kids and define them as problem children. Put them on medicine and make up a goofy name for their problem. I'm telling you folks, it is no wonder our school system stinks! Because of trash like this.

I thank God everyday that my kid goes to private school. I am convinced more than ever that we now live in a good vs evil society. Or better yet a self-serving, faithless, me first, country last left VS. the good, morality driven, value, God fearing right.

Wow, do we ever need a true hero!

You are correct!... maybe we should work on getting better parents, then we can get rid of the guidance counselors too!

If that is anywhere near the most uninformed thing you have ever heard, you definitely need to get out more. Go read cnn.com - you can read lots of uninformed things every day.

lol unfortunately it works the OPPOSITE way- nothing we can do about who creates and raises a child, so the back up plan has to be guidance counselors. they can report abuse, neglect, depression- all behaviors that innatentive un delusional parents ignore or don't notice- that can lead to bigger problems.

Unfortunately, we can't fix the parents at school, but we can try to fix the kids. Is there another solution???

This may be one of the more repugnant posts I have read in a while. I find these kind of sentiments utterly immoral and totally opposed to my personal values.

It isn't an issue of "left" or "right" politically. People in general can be very selfish and have a me-first mentality. It's up to us as individuals to behave well in society. Many times this is lacking, which I often see manifested in driving - people do what they want to do, regardless of the laws society has laid out for us for our own safety.
