The newsletter said that "in the event of rain" the Egg Hunt on Saturday will be moved inside. What if it's really cold out? Any chance it won't be outside except for rain?

Rain .. I can understand moving it indoors, but bundle up the kids, after all, you let them play in the snow, why is cold in April any different ??

Yeah, in Neil's day, he had to walk up hill in snow, both ways, to an Easter Egg hunt. And they were happy to have it! (hahaha)

Yeah.... back in New England, we wouldn't know where to hide those eggs without 2 or 3 foot of snow!

They are moving the event to the Community Center. I was part of an email chain discussing it. I assume website updates will be up soon

So will the Eater bunny just hand them out or will there actually be a 'hunt' indoors? Any updates from the events committee would be greatly appreciated!

This was ridiculous - we ended up bailing and hiding some eggs in our backyard. I'm not sure how the logic worked on cancelling the egg hunt - it's too cold for a 5 minute easter egg hunt, yet we'll queue people up to get into the community center and have them wait in the cold for 30 minutes to see the Easter bunny. Bad decision.

If you would like to volunteer to assist the event committee, I am sure they will be more than happy to have your assistance. Maybe you can help make decisions for them next time a situation like this happens.

We were maybe 5-10 minutes early and 10th in line or so. We waited about 10 minutes as they started basically on time. Event was brief but fun for my kids. I think the volunteers were kind, friendly, helpful, and everything seemed to run smooth. I also think that there were more people than expected. Maybe next time there could be a RSVP number so the volunteers could know how many to expect. If people are complaning about the "in case of rain" process the event could be cancelled for any weather but sunny warm weather. I think in liu of poor weather the kids were still treated to a nice event. A compromise of sorts. Better than nothing! Thank you volunteers!

I agree with jburrows - We also arrived a few minutes early so were pretty close to the front of the line. Other folks that arrived on time or later than 11am seemed to have a decent wait in line wrapping between the community center trash cans (with lots of road spam signs sticking out) and not sure if they received any eggs by the time they made it inside? I do hope so and I did see some nice helper kids coming outside handing out eggs to those in line.

Our children enjoyed the brief but cute event. Thank you to the organizers and to the bunny!
It is always tough to please everyone when you cannot predict the weather or # of participants.

Just so I don't come off as a complete jerk, let me clarify my last post. I'm really very appreciative of the time the volunteers take to run these events. Our kid, while scared of anyone dressed in a bunny or any other form of costume, usually enjoys the Broadlands community events. I just found the situation to be ironic.

Times have changed so much. Our son is 13. When he was little, we got together with neighbors or family or just ourselves to hide Easter eggs outside in the back yard.

Is EVERYTHING for kids now so organized?!

We had an egg hunt for 1.
Our 4 year old was so happy when my wife and I gave him a thunderous applause after he found the "golden egg", that he immediately put it back in the same spot and pretended to look for it all over again! :D

One of our neighbors set up an awesome egg hunt for the kids on our street. Each kid was to only pick up a certain color egg; they hid five of each color. The older kids’ eggs were more difficult to find and the toddlers had easier ones. It was cold but the kids didn’t notice because they were having so much fun.
