In case you missed it, the Flick in the Sticks season calendar has been released!

    http://www.broadlandshoa.org/events/flicks/flicks.htm

If you have not been to Flicks in the Sticks yet, you are in for a treat! Imagine a drive-in theatre sans the cars. We set up a huge movie tarp at the nature center and have everyone spread out on the lawn in blankets and watch a current movie for the kids. The last couple years highlights include films such as The Incredibles, Chicken Little and Brother Bear among others.

We have free movie popcorn (popped on site!) and drinks. The event is free of charge and open to all Broadlands community residents.

The Technology Committee is still deciding on movies for this year, but if you would like to offer suggestions please feel free to do so here!

Our first movie night is June 9th, right at sunset.

This year we're asking those who bring lawn chairs to try and sit on the sides, so those with blankets can better see the movie from the center and back.

Remember to bring extra blankets, as it can get chilly once the sun goes down. We'll have tiki torches setup surrounding the theatre with bug repellent, but feel free to bring your own spray/lotion for added mosquito protection.

I'd recommend "Sky High" - It's a light piece of fluff that's fun for all ages. My 5 and 7 yr olds enjoy it and I imagine some slightly older kids would enjoy it too because it's not an animated movie. My husband and I think it's comical because it's so light in nature...... and even has a fun plot (typical good vs. evil).

Just out of curiosity, why can't the movie titles be used in the newsletter?

Flicka, Charlotte's Web, and Bridge to Terabithia were all hits with my 7-year-old daughter this year.
