ok my online friends and family- while i healed from my ankle surgery i decided to do something besides laying there feeling sorry for myself, and put my brain to work...

    surgery +dilaudid+lap top +free time = www.aphioni.com

in a nutshell it reviews, praises and encourages the great, smaller businesses in Ashburn and nearby- restaurants, salons, specialty services, contractors- the people we rely on to make our quality of life better within 15 miles of our front doors!

We all get sad when a local business we love leaves Ashburn and is replaced by a starbucks (lol)- but they often leave because they aren't getting the business to keep the doors open.

    enter Flying Colors! www.aphioni.com

I also get the owners involved in knowing the feedback from their customers- present and potential- to give them the opportunity they fix what we don't like and continue doing what we DO enjoy! Referrals, word of mouth and loyalty will keep Ashburn from becoming a community of chain restaurants and franchise stores, and local entrepeneurs can be successful here if WE get the word out. and businesses that aren't good neighbors or don't work hard enough to deserve our money and time will become motivated to do better, offer more, and now we have a higher standard all over... it's a wonderful concept!

so anyway, i am debuting the site to YOU because I have never seen a more vocal, critical, and often right-on-the-money crew of armchair critics, and i want your feedback- both here and especially comments on the site! Please enter comments if you agree or disagree with a review, post your OWN opinions on which businesses you think deserve a Flying Colors Review (under Guest Reccomendations.) the more comments we pile up for a business, the better chance i have of getting the owner to sit up and take notice.

My skin is thick- I can take constructive criticism, so don't be afraid to be honest. i had planned to stay totally anonymous, but i've never been good at keeping a secret... lol

so please visit the site and tell me what you think- share the link with anyone you think would enjoy it. If I can make it past YOU guys, Brambleton, Be,mont, the Village and the Farms will be a breeze to handle! lol

thanks for the support from that little group who helped make this happen... you know who you are.

Redon - thanks for the site...I have repainted one hallway 5 times b/c the colors I picked from BMP didnt dry like they showed in the showroom, eaten bad meals, cursed everytime I purchase a $5 coffee...Basically making bad decisions before getting input.

    I'll leave feedback.

In the upper left your "logo" bleeds over the line into the main text area.

i knew someone would ask eventually... lol aphioni is Greek for poppy- which- if you look up a poppy's properties on a plant website, they are described as "nutty yet pleasant"... you've met me Kaos- need i say more?

From the home page click on "CLICK HERE..." Now look at the words (what I called the 'logo') int he upper left. The word "Recognition!" runs over the white line running across the page.

I think he means that the banner area at the top isn't vertically large enough for the three lines of text.

Must be a monitor issue, because I don't have that problem. It looks just fine to me.

ditto. the line runs thru the bottom of the word recognition on mine, but it looks normal.... nothing i can do about it anyway- i don't tink that's a variable option on the site...

I see some overlap too, maybe it's the browser, I use Mozilla Firefox not Explorer.

Anyway, that is a great looking website for something you did in your "spare time"! Easy to navigate, it looks very professional, what software did you use? Does anyone use Frontpage anymore? You must have done that for a living - please tell me.

I thought the name you chose was a clever play on words because it looks like it's pronounced "epiphany".

There will be forthcoming HH's. I haven't had the time nor energy to arrange January's as of yet. It has been a rough holidays in the T8erFamily.
