Yesterday afternoon, a black and brown long-haired tabby was found on Glebe View Drive (between Truro Parish and Vestals Gap). Very friendly with beautiful eyes! No collar or identification. This pet appeared to have been missing for some time because the cat was extremely skinny.

Unfortunately, the cat was injured with what appeared to be a possibly abcessed bite near a rear leg. Also unfortunately, I had to leave town and could not keep the cat myself nor was I able to find a neighbor to care for the cat.

I ended up taking the cat out to the county animal shelter because of the need for immediate care - if I had been able to, I would have taken the cat to my own veterinarian instead. If you are missing a cat, PLEASE call the county shelter!!!

I'm quite worried about the cat and wish I could adopt myself if the owner does not step forward and another family doesn't step forward. A really beautiful animal!

First many many thanks to Sunny for calling me and notifying me about this post! I tried calling the shelter today (Sunday) but unfortunately they are closed on Sunday's. I also tried to get in touch with jdhauer to try and get some further identifying info -- Muffin is a Himalayan which looks very much like a long haired Siamese with big blue eyes. He's also declawed (front paws). I will try the shelter again tomorrow and see if I can get more information. It would be wonderful to discover this is Muffin. For future reference since I don't have the time to check here as often as I would like to, I'm happy to receive calls on my cell regarding Muffin: 571.276.5490

Sorry that I've been out of town!

The cat I found had amber eyes and did not resemble a Siamese/Himalayan. The cat looked a lot like a black and tan lion!

Absolutely beuatiful but probably not the same cat - a wonderful animal though and obciously someone's pet and some point in the past.

I'm glad to see your post...I was just getting ready to call the shelter and thought I'd check here first!

Much as I hate to acknowledge it I doubt that Muffin will return home since it's been since October. :( I just hope that someone took him in and loves him as we do.

    Thanks for the info.
