Hi folks- Fresh is a hot new movie (www.freshthemovie.com) that examines new ways of looking at our food and the importance of empowering ourselves through fresh, local, and sustainably produced foods. It promises to be a good show. We'll be showing it twice in Loudoun... Details below

Sunday June 28 at Moutoux Orchard
Farm tour at 2:00, movie at 3:00
    Discussion afterwards for those interested.
This is a CSA open house we are hosting, but everyone is welcome to come to the movie or the tour. www.moutouxorchard.com
$5 suggested donation for non-CSA members

We are at 15290 Purcellville Rd. From Leesburg, take Route 7 west to Route 9 west. After 287, turn right on Purcellville Rd and go 1/2 mile to the Moutoux Orchard sign. Turn in on the right and follow back to the red-roofed barn. Come meet your farmers, ask us questions, have a chat, see where your food will be coming from, and enjoy the beauty of this piece of Loudoun ground!
    ------------------------

Saturday July 18 at Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship
potluck dinner at 6:30, movie at 8:00
    $5 suggested donation
The Blue Ridge Center, home to Mountain View Farm, is at 11661 Harper's Ferry Road in Neersville, across from the Neersville Fire Station. www.brces.org

For more info on the movie, or to check out the trailer (which is quick and inspiring).... www.freshthemovie.com . The film highlights famed Virginia farmer Joel Salatin, founder of Milwaukee's Growing Power and former pro basketballer Will Allen, and author Michael Pollan, author of Omnivore's Dilemma, In Defense of Food, and The Botany of Desire. It's being marketed via community showings like this one rather than through traditional theatres.

Should be a good showing. Hope to see some of you at either screening!!!
