    Anyone see higher gas bills yet? Our usage for past month was almost cut in half (brrr the house is cold) but our bill looked about the same as last year and that scares me. $200 to heat for most of November (dec. bill) for 2 story house. Anyone else want to share what they are paying?

    Its not going to be pretty this year ... natural gas rates have doubled.

    I would really consider getting on the payment plan. It averages out the entire years worth of gas, and it makes it more managable. My monthly gas bill just went DOWN from the previous year installment plan.

    We're in a 3-level townhouse (always a pain to keep consistently warm on all levels with one system) and we've been trying to cut back on gas usage and we've been supplementing with electric radiators... here is our recent usage in therms if anyone wants to compare:

    Our gas bill went up 53% over last year.

    That's taking into account the therms used - the cost per therm increased 53%.

    Actually, it was less of an increase than I expected after the doomsday news on the subject.
