    Hi,

I would appreciate if anyone could recommend a good product to get rid of carpet stains.

I see lots of products available on the market but I want to know one that really works.

    Thanks.

Get a professional job if the stains are numerous and/or "bad". A lot of the products that clean the stain end up acting as an attractant later on making your carpet dingy, if lightly colored.

We've been impressed by Spot Shot. I don't know if it ends up acting as an attractant, though, because all our carpets are dingy anyway. Can't wait for hardwood...

another vote for spot shot. i started using it years ago when i spillled a starbucks mocha cream colored carpet. it took it all out and the stain didn't come back! imo it's the best thing between professional cleanings.

Another vote for Spot Shot - used it on two occasions due to the beloved baby. One stain was for spaghetti sauce and the other for orange juice. No hint/sign of where either spot used to be, and the carpet never faded. Our carpet is a cream color.

We've had good luck with Resolve Pet Stain spray and the Woolite Pod, but we only have cat messes, no big dog messes. As a general rule, the faster you try to clean the stain, the better chance you have of getting it out.

The key too is to blot...don't rub. Spot Shot is the best IMO.

If it is a pet or otherwise "organic" stain look for a cleaner made especially for organic (i.e, urine, vomit, etc.) stains.

Spot Shot took the color out of our almost white berber carpet, could have been from overuse....they sell it at Costco, and I have three boys and a dog :rolleyes3:. I have had really good experiences with "Kid and Pet". They sell it at Target for about $4.99 or HT for $8.99. A yellow and blue bottle...works fabulously on everything and have had no trouble with it removing the color.

Folex. It is in a white bottle with purple lettering and the only place I've found it around here has been Safeway but I think this works wonders. Took red wine stain out of my white carpet. Don't know about color removal so I would test it but it is definitely the best I've used.

We just had our carpets cleaned by JCB - fantastic job! I asked the guy about a good spot remover and he said Spot Shot. I second the Nature's Miracle for pet stains.
