My wife and I went for dinner Friday night and it was excellent. In addition, they take reservations which was a definate plus since when we arrived at 6:45 there was a 40 minute wait. The Chicken Egg Rolls are amazing!!

Had lunch there today..very good! First time visitors get $5 off their next meal, get on their email listerv and you get another 15% off, and they also offer pick-up, with a coupon for $$ off each time, and the more you order that way the more $$ you get off:)

Dry, tough steak; dry mashed potatoes with hard potatoe peels; freezing cold air coming from vent at feet; waitress dropping a glass from the overhead rack from the bar next to our table onto the floor...what an adventure...maybe I'll give them another chance.

I had high hopes for this restaurant. We tried it out today for lunch. When we arrived at 3pm, the hostess was talking to someone...obviously not about having her seated. We waited for about 2 minutes and she didn't even acknowledge that we were standing there. Finally, she sat us...only when she did, she laughed and said, "sorry, I forgot these seats were for skinnier people". Now my husband and I are very slim. My brother-in-law...maybe a tad overweight...nothing to make a big deal about. It was offensive and she was lucky she didn't say that to the wrong person. She's young and I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that she doesn't know better than to say things like that. Fine...

Our server came and gave us bread. It was terrific and I enjoyed the dipping oil. No drink order taken. About 4-5 minutes later, a different server comes and tells us she'll be taking care of us. Fine. Call me old-fashion, but I don't like appreciate being called "honey" and "darling" from someone that's close to the age of a teenager. It was overkill.

We didn't get our food until 25 minutes later. That's much too long for a restaurant that is practically empty. Food was fine. French fries were great. Our server never came to check on us. We sat there forever. I finally went to the edge of the kitchen to get some boxes when I look over, our server is sitting down with 3 others in the corner. I walk back to my booth and she comes behind and apologizes.

Food was okay. The service was completely unacceptable and I will never return. I do believe management should receive feedback on our visit and although I didn't call the manager at the time (as I normally would), they'll definitely be receiving a letter.

I hope others receive better customer service on their visits.

Went to Joe's on Friday night for our second visit with a party of 7 people. Were promptly seated (thanks to a reservation)... however, everything went down from there. EXCEPT the service which was great. The salads and soup arrived with the meals, the Chicken Carbonara had no chicken in it and had to be sent back, and the chicken piccatta hads pieces of plastic in the pasta. The managers apologized but nothing else was done to remedy the situation... not a good night. Will probably try again but I hope they get their kitchen problems fixed.

we had a SUPERB lunch experience there today- arrived just as fresh bread came out of the oven- had Mustard crusted chicken- the juiciest breast i've ever tasted for under $10 and the chicken mole- so much flavor it's hard to describe. Forrest was our waiter and he was perfect from start to finish. The bartender was also excellent- my bloody mary was truly perfect- from the horseradish to the lime!

Give them another try if you've only been once- we were impressed with our whole experience today! i WILL say the hostess wasn't great- forgot to give us the daily specials and seemed quite uninterested in her job for it being so early in the day, but still- she was polite and didn't figure much into our time there at all.

I second Redon's kudos for the Mustard Crusted Chicken. Had that on my first visit and loved it.

Went yesterday around 5:00 to celebrate hubby's birthday (the birthday gifts for E-mail Club members are a FREE entree AND dessert, by the way -- the most generous of any birthday offers I've seen in the area!), and I'm disappointed to report that the trend continues. Food was awesome, but service was not.

About 10 minutes after being seated, a server appeared and said, "I don't know where your server is, but welcome to Not Your Average Joe's!" She proceeded to become our server for the day, and I think this happened with a whole section's worth of customers. She did a great job, though, especially for taking on someone else's work. Everything was slower than you'd expect, but the orders were accurate.

As for food, I can now recommend the Chicken Oscar, and hubby raved about the Not Your Average Paella (a June special). I'm sure neither dish had any calories whatsoever. The Peanut Butter Thing -- "peanut butter and chocolate chunks folded into vanilla ice cream and rolled in oreo cookie crumbs, topped with fresh whipped cream and drizzled with hot chocolate and caramel sauces tableside" -- could feed 4 adults comfortably, it's so huge. The caramel sauce was a bit odd - rather liquid and tasted strongly of butter and something tangy - but maybe that's how caramel is really supposed to be and I've had one too many McD's caramel sundaes over the years :)
