Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation to a Granite Counter Top vendor? We used Plan-it Granite (in our old place in the Village)...but they gave us a Sky High estimate. Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed.:woot:

We used USA Granite in Sterling. They were about $3000 less than Plan-It.

We recently used USA Marble and Granite as well. We were very pleased. It was done within a week, and the cost was much lower than two other estimates.

Thanks for the info - I called just a short while ago and have an appointment for Tuesday. Also, I am wondering if either of you all originally had Corian and replaced it with Granite - we are a bit concerned that could increase the price of removal. Thanks again

Carpet Man in the Dulles Plaza with TJ Maxx and Scan in it just installed Black Galaxy in our kitchen in March- great job- even replaced the entire island when we saw there was a scratch on it. They were quick, professional and really on the job. couldn't be happier with his work, lots of pride in it and fair prices.

We did have Corian -- I want to say that the removal was $250? They didn't quote that based on what type of counter they were removing -- seemed like a general quote.

I completely forgot that Nadeem does granite:eek: (he installed the pergo & berber in our basement, after we finished it off last year) - thanks for the reminder.

yep- Home Depot. Nadeem came in slightly under giving us the ogee edge but not by much. We went with him based on recommendations.

We used USA Marble and Granite too, and they were great.

You may also want to do a search on the forums. I know there have been a lot of posts about granite on here within the last year. HTH!

We used Tart for a Granite Countertop on a new island. Had the old one taken out by the same contractor.

The price was much less then HD, and the service was much better. We talked to the HD contractor and he didn't seem to want to do the job and gave an outrageous estimate. Tart's contractor was a real nice guy, new what he was doing, did it quickly and we got a great plumber contact out of it too!

Curious to see if anyone has had silestone installed and what their opinion is. Right now I'm leaning more toward silestone than granite....

We used Granite Granite Granite in Sterling. They are a small family owned business and the turnaround time from templating to installation was 1 week exactly. They also quoted the best price. The stone importer/wholesaler they work with is Europastone in Sterling and the showroom has hundreds of slabs to choose from. The fabricating job was wonderful and the attitude of the workers was great. http://www.granitegranitegranite.com

    Homer,

I am curious to know if you got a quote for "USA Marble & Granite" or "USA Granite" to compare against for Tart.

Does anyone have "USA Marble & Granite" contact info, I can't seem to find it.

Also, did anyone every get a quote from "The Countertop Company" down in Chantilly?

Thanks for the referral to USA Marble & Granite - Ali came out tonight - We were really pleased with this pricing and service:clap: - It looks like our kitchen needs about 106 Ft and our basement kitchen is around 49 Ft - so he was able to give us a steep "bulk" discount. Just wondering, of those who recommend USA - did any of you all have work done in your bathrooms...we asked Ali to give us pricing on re-doing our master bath in marble, b/c the savings on the counter tops was more than we had anticipated. Thanks again for the recommendation!...he saved us 5K (from Lowes) and 7K from Plan-It Granite.

Hi Folks! - THANK YOU so much for the info on USA Marble & Granite. They installed the kitchen and kitchenette for us last weekend. They did it ALL in one day. Thank you again!
