    Foodies and others--

I had to let "y'all" know of our dining experience tonight at a great Italian and Portuguese restaurant in Old Town Manassas. We had to pickup my former two college roommates from Georgia (who came in on the Amtrak train at the Manassas train station a few nights ago) at their hotel in Manassas tonight. They are visiting with us for two weeks.

Anyway, we decided to take them to Carmello's Little Portugal in Old Town Manassas for a great meal and for the kids to see the train if possible and hear the train horns etc. We all (all eight of us--yes including all kids--for you nonbelievers--anyway and my friends) went to Carmello's Little Portugal which is across from the Manassas Ice Rink and train station.

We had a great dinner of Italian and Portuguese dishes and desserts. I had a glass of Chianti which was good. My girlfriends and husband had Sangria which was good also. The dessert cart was piled high with over 15 or more various Italian and Portuguese desserts--cannolis (hand made), bananas foster, and other great desserts. The price points were reasonable. The kids portions were sensible and priced accordingly. Great attentive service. Also live music in the bar area.

Give it a try next time you venture in to Old Town Manassas. The kids heard the train horn and of course seeing the VRE train pull in the train station was fun for them.

    Good eats--
