Its an english pale ale, but it isnt ready for drinking yet. It is done fermenting and will be bottled tomorrow as long as I get a good Specific Gravity reading. And I must ask will you have the kid trailer so that you can bring some beers home with you.

yea, you guys got all my jokes... and that is what I was thinking, kid trailer can hold a lot of beer. Ok, English Pale Ale... did you go more for a bitter style, a little on the strong side? Is it all grain or use some extract? And are you shooting for around 4.5% alcohol and gravity range around 1.02? And I thought you put your beer into kegs (5 gal)?

It is a little bit of malt extract with some hops brewed in it. I am shooting for about 4.5 abv. This is batch number one so it might turn out more like dog doo. But that just means I will start over.

The original idea was to put it in kegs, but that turned into being prohibitivly expensive. I would need to buy the keg, a dual regulator for the co2 tank and a double tap so that I could have one keg of home brew and one keg of craft brew in the kegerator at all times.

OK, where do you get your supplies? Back when I brewed there was a GREAT place in Vienna called "Brew America." He moved to the back side of Tysons, then folded up shop.

Its kinda a haul but I go into Falls Church to get them at a place called MLHBS(My Local Home Brew Shop). They have everything you need to make wine and beer. If you want to use web shopping you can use Jays Brewing too.

    MyLHBS

Jays site is here. But it doesnt seem to be working today.

There also is a place in frederick, md that I have not been too but I have heard pretty good things about.
    It is the Flying Barrell.

But all in all I reccomend Derek at MyLHBS in Falls Church.

I did not say that all common area can be used as anyone sees fit. For the purpose of having a resident get together on an open greenspace (that was built for people to use) there is no problem.

As much controversy as the subject of fliers has created in the past, they're probably the best way to distribute the word. I'd put them in the newspaper bin under the mailboxes, though -- I'm so sick of the stuff crammed in the front door that I just rip it out and throw it directly into the recycling bin without a glance.

Um, would neighbors from around the corner off Windover be welcome? Only because you said the magic "b" word :)

I dont see why not. One thing that I definatly am not is a location snob.

And I was thinking the same about flyers, putting them in the news paper slot. I too hate the stuff crammed on my door and would never be a part to such cramming.

It depends on your target audience. Looks like you already have a bunch of folks here ready to invade your space.

I dont think I really have a target audience other than "neighbors". Thats kinda why my wife and I are tossing this idea around. It would be a nice way to get to know our neighbors and maybe start a tradition of a summer "block" party.

We just did a summer block part and it was a really big hit. Let me know if you want more details, I can send you copies of the e-vite, party supplies, logistics, set-up, equipment, toys etc. Our block really put on a good show and we have great neighbors... it works great.

Broken Skull, I don't think putting a flyer in someone's door inviting them to a party would be a bad thing. It's not like it's yet another crappy flyer from WOW, a gutter cleaning service, or a cleaning company.

Anyone who would be offended by an invitation needs help!
