We are thinking of replacing our first floor with hardwood but I am hesitant to do the kitchen. Has anyone had any problems with water stains and such in the kitchen? Any recommendations?

we have, but some wood is more resilient.. I would get some samples and let water sit on them, drop things on them, etc, and see how it fairs.

I have wood in my Kitchen (builder put it in), its Bruce, Antique Hickory Distress, if you drop something and it chips you just dap a little black magic marker and it looks just like the original floor, and no water marks the last 2 years

We also have Bruce Hardwood in our kitchen and LOVE it. No water marks or stain problems at all.

We have wood, and a small rug by the sink. No problems and greatly prefer to tile. Mike
