When I was running yesterday I passed by/through this overflow parking 3 times; there certainly were a lot of cars lining roads along and adjacent to Broadlands Blvd. However, I never felt that I was in jeopardy of being hit by a car/driver. In fact, I didn't know what the people were there for but it seemed like a pretty sober crowd; now I know why. Just because people are parking on our neighborhood streets doesn't make it a reckless situation, especially when it occurred during the off hours of 10-2.

To compare this to a hospital parking situation is totally inaccurate. The normal activity of a suburban hospital would not generate anywhere near this type of crowd. It would be a rare occasion that the parking lot would be over capacity.

I've already posted this, but prior to moving to Broadlands I lived less than a mile away from a community hospital in a Chicago suburb. My experience tells me that all the anti-hospital Broadlanders are off base in their fears and their predictions of doom. Our community lost out on a good thing due to such faulty reactions.

I'm with you on the failed comparison of the job fair overflow vs hospital parking, but where the heck did this come from?

Concern over the safety of kids is selfish!?? How exactly?

One heck of a rant, though.

I won't say thanks for the rant because part of me wishes I hadn't done it. To that...this is my last post on this board. When I lose the ability to have a cordial discourse, it's time to move on and not waste my time.

    Adieu!
