There was a helicopter flying REALLY low on Saturday, around 5:15ish in the afternoon. It looks like it was hanging around the to-be Harris Teeter off Wynridge in Southern Walk. Anyone else see it or know what it is? I was driving, so I didn't get a good look, but it appeared to have someone sitting on the edge- i.e., taking video or pictures.

A friend who was ref'ing a soccer game in Herndon said a similar thing happened to him that morning, near the CIT building.

    Ideas? Just curious...

We go by the Leesburg Airport a lot (3 year old LOVES helicopters). We went by there Sunday and there was a very small yellow helicopter that someone was learning to fly-maybe they were just practicing...

yeah, but they generally take you out over cow fields and up high enough that the instructor can recover if you do something stupid. They're also supposed to be at least 2000 feet above ground (FAA minimum altitude)

I'm taking flying lessons there too, so maybe I'll get to seem the broadlands from above sometime here soon. I think you're supposed to fly at over 500ft though

FAA guidelines say 2000 feet for regular flying. 500 ft is traffic pattern height and distance from buildings, etc.
