Helicopter

    Did anyone else hear the low flying helicopter this morning at 2:45am? The only reason I heard it is because it woke me up-it was flying VERY low. Does anyone know if there are restrictions on how high helicopters have to fly over residential neighborhoods, oro who to contact to inquire?

    (I don't want to turn this into a hospital thread please)

    I did hear one low over our house last night between 10:30 and midnight. I was surprised because we're so close to the airport (I'm in Brambleton) and I'm more used to hearing one very larger, loud plane at that hour. The noise didn't bother me because I used to live in Arlington on the helicopter flight path to the Pentagon, which was much noisier than last night. I assumed it was a police helicopter.

    I'm a Broadlands wannabe. I live in the Farm but my property backs to the Broadlands "future senior housing" land. Close enough to enjoy the Broadlands live music from my deck, but not actually in the Broadlands.

    Oh, and another helicopter flew over aroung 3:30am-not nearly as low though. (Don't worry-I am not an insomniac, just the mother of a sick 3 year old)...

    I did see a helicopter with search light (not a joke) over Ashburn Village on Sunday night. I'm not sure if that was the same one you are talking about, but it looked like the police were hunting someone down.
