    Staci,
Any word on how to find out if we got the swim class we requested?
Also, my neighbors and I were discussing a shared concern that many of the staff at the pool on DeMott do not speak English well enough to understand simple requests. THis is of concern in the event of an emergency.
    Thanks.

I visited all the pools today and spoke to at least 3-4 of the lifeguards at each pool.
All understood me and communicated fine. Yes, they had accents but I did not have communication issues with any of them.

I spoke to all of them at each pool, no problems. Yes some have accents, but no worse than some of my friends.

I don't mind the accents one bit.

I also wanted to say that I was quite happy with the staff at the pool on Demott Friday afternoon (4:30 - 6:00). Not only were the lifeguards in the chairs attentive but there were two guards walking the pool deck, watching the kids in the pool. The staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. I was impressed and that's hard to do :)

What a wonderful improvement over last year!

Yes - I agree!! Both times I have recently used Summerbrooke pool, the lifeguards were on top of everything at all times. They were cleaning, very attentive to the kids, sitting close to the edge, walking the perimeter, etc. I found them to be very pleasant and they genuinely seemed to be taking their jobs seriously. I'm quite happy with the staff - haven't used the other pools yet, but hope the experience is the same. And there were no communication issues, I even had to explain about visitors meeting up with me and everything was understood just fine.

As far as I know Andre is calling everyone that did not get their 1st choice of lessons so you should have heard from him if there needs to be a change. There are plans to post the final schedule but I do not see that happening until the weekend before lessons start. So 2 options if you need to verify right now 1 you could call or stop by the SW pool and ask Andre or 2 if you want I can try to verify if you want to PM me what you singed up for ( I just not sure how long it would take me to get back in touch with you right now)
As far as the English speaking issue, I have talked to all of the guards a that are regularly scheduled to be at our pools and only found 1 that concerned me. I immediately asked for him to be removed as a guard (I did not care if they wanted to use him for cleaning and maintenance). It is my understanding this was done but I do need to follow up and make sure that has occurred. Everyone else is quite capable of speaking English to handle this job though they may get stuck on a word or two they do get the information needed out. I speak to most of them on a daily basis and over the phone often so I am quite confident in my assessment. If you have a specific guard that you are concerned about I am happy to talk to you about it.

Hi Staci! I would also much prefer evenings so that I can leave the little one home with my husband and give our 5 yr old the attention she deserves (as opposed to chasing the other one around the pool making sure she doesn't jump in!). :) Do I need to get a group together myself (and how many kids?) or can I contact High Sierra to see if others have already signed up for evening lessons. Your comments would be greatly appreciated!

Contact Andre at the SW pool and talk to him see what he has available. I know there is only a few evening spots open so I am not sure if there are many left

I might have missed the answer, but do we still drop off the swim lesson reg. forms at the Nature Center?

Because Andre is starting to fill up fast it would be best if you could drop them off to him at the SW pool between 4pm and 8pm M-F and 11am to8 pm Sat and Sun. If that is not possible then you can drop them off at the NC attention Staci and I will see that he gets them

My understanding is they are suppose to be posted today. I will contact Andre to verify but unless other wise contacted you should have gotten your 1st time choice. The morning Nemo and Sea turtle classes will be at the Summerbrooke pool and Sharks will be at southern walk.
Evening classes you will have to talk to Andre as I am not sure where he has scheduled them
