Does anyone know of any Holiday plays in the Leesburg/Ashburn/Sterling area suitable for 5th graders? High School productions or more professional are both ok.

    Thanks!

It's not a play, but we've really enjoyed Nutcracker in a Shell All Cracked Up. It's every year.

The Sterling Playmakers are performing a new holiday play this December.

The Elf Who Came for Christmas By Joe Campanella
    Dates December 3-5, 10-12, 2010
Synopsis: Molly is a twelve-year-old girl who wants desperately to rekindle her father’s Christmas spirit by buying him the perfect gift – namely, an expensive winter coat. But finding and affording just the right coat isn’t easy, even with the help of her best friends. Then one night, Molly meets an elf named Elliott, a misfit sent by Santa to learn the true meaning of Christmas. By helping Molly, Elliott hopes to help himself. Unfortunately, Elliott is klutzy and careless, and does a better job of getting Molly into trouble than helping her. With a dozen fun characters, another dozen singing extras, and five original songs, The Elf Who Came for Christmas is funny and heartwarming on all age levels.

They usually perform at Sterling Middle School.

    Joy,

That's exactly the type of thing I'm looking for, but it's not showing until December 2010!

LOL. Woops! How about this one then? A little further (Herndon), but Elden Street has great productions.

It's A Wonderful LIfe is the heartwarming saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls, whose dreams of escape and adventure have been repeatedly quashed by notions of family obligation and civic duty. It is Christmas Eve and George's guardian angel, Clarence, descends to save him from despair, and to remind him that his has been, after all, a wonderful life. It's A Wonderful Life not only celebrates the season, it also celebrates the American philosophy of life: that hard work, fair play, and the love and support of family and community will be rewarded.
    Production Dates: December 11-20, 2009
