Our HOA books is MIA at the moment. Does anyone know if HOA approval is required for installation of invisible dog fences? Since they only allow wooden fences four feet high, we are going the invisible route to keep our hurdling canines closed in. It would take all of two minutes for one of them to clear a four foot fence and be gone forever! Thanks for any info.

Merlin, be careful with the invisible fences when there is a power outage because the fence will be affected. - Rachel

There is no approval required for invisible fence ... it is invisible, therefore does not affect the look or design of the property.

that plus if your pups are bold enough, they will run right through it.

And other things to note...just to add our 2 cents....

It requires really working with your dog(s) to train them. Ours was terrified of the beeping alone that he would hug the house when we let him out. Now he's fine.

And, yes, if your dog is wild - he/she will likely run through. I've witnessed that too frequently in this neighborhood.

Also make sure you know what systems your neighbors are using. Some may have the same type and be on the same frequency.

Make sure you ask about a money back guarantee. Ours was 1/2 the price of the traditional fence and had a guarantee, which is why we chose it. It ended up working out for us, but it isn't for everyone.

Thanks for all the advice. I know it will be quite a process and a lot of work to introduce them to all of this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will work.

Don't forget to walk your dogs on a regular basis.....so many people get fences/invisible fences and think their dogs don't need any further exercise! ALL dogs, large or small need a daily walk!!
