    Position: Global Network Program Associate
    Reporting to: Executive Program Director

    PEACE X PEACE (PXP) is a three-year old 501(c)(3) US-based organization with programs that empower women in the United States and outside the United States to build the components of peace. Central to this is the PXP Global Network connecting women’s groups in the United States one-to-one through the Internet to women’s groups outside the United States, creating Sister Circles to inform, mentor, and mutually support each other.

    PXP raises awareness of, and promotes support for, feminine circular principles in all social structures. PEACE X PEACE has a fast-paced working environment where we all offer support, work as a team, and encourage initiative, drive, and talent. The person in this position must be comfortable doing their own “grunt” work, as well as serving as a leader, providing care and attention to the members of the organization.

    The Global Network Program Associate position is a full-time position to be filled immediately. The initial contract is a one-year minimum, which is preceded by a three-month probation period. The person in the position reports directly to the Executive Program Director.

    The position requires an impassioned self-starter who will make the PXP vision and goals meaningful and relevant the current customer base participating in the Global Network program. The right candidate must be pro-active and have an outgoing personality, and be comfortable and effective in expressing this virtually through email. The position requires highly skilled cross-cultural sensitivity and attention, and utmost respect for and protection of the confidentiality of members within the Global Network.

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Monitor, evaluate, analyze data on Global Network connections and communication
    • Produce bi-monthly reports on the status of the Global Network –comprehensive and specific
    • Produce recommendations for assistance to members
    • Implement approved recommendations
    • Recommend policy and process for enhancing the Global Network
    • Document policy, interventions, and processes associated with Global Network management
    • Liaise with Global Network members – responding to needs, requests, questions
    • Manage and respond to the Global Network email account
    • Assist Executive Program Director in any Global Network-related development and process, including, but not limited to, IT development and management, outreach, resource development, and data management



    SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Facilitation and/or mediation experience in the field
    • Excellent formal and informal writing skills
    • Experience with sensitive cultural issues (or religious, racial, and other conflict prone dialogue practices)
    • Advanced IT skills, including, but not limited to, MSOffice, comfort with new technologies and databases, and openness and ability to engage with IT developers for the development of PXP technology
    • Ability to multi-task, deal with deadlines, and maintain humor under pressure
    • Work well with others as a team
    • Have a passion for enabling women to be active, equal participants in all aspects of building the components of health communities.

    EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE:
    • College degree in cross-cultural communications, conflict management (resolution), women’s issues and/or foreign relations
    • Minimum of three years’ professional experience in a non-profit organization, mediation, and/or cross-cultural communications
    • Experience and ease with persons of diverse cultures, religions, and traditions

    LANGUAGE

    • Native-level English writing skills

    ADDITIONAL SKILL BENEFITS:

    • Expertise in other languages than English is not required, but is highly beneficial
    • MA in cross-cultural communications, conflict management (resolution), women’s issues, and/or foreign relations
    • Professional experience in IT industry
    • Professional experience related to women’s issues and/or peace building

    Absolutely -- although the orientation and focus is on womens issues, we've got some men who are key individuals and supporters within PXP.
