Can anyone tell me if we need to have landscape designs approved by the HOA? I know we need to for the new deck or patio we plan, but I can't find anything mentioned re: landscaping.

    Thanks in advance!

Karl - Yes, you need to submit a detailed application of what you plan to do.

This id for new plantings. If you need to replace a planting with the same planting then you do not need approval.

you better get an official answer, because I got a written response that says the opposite last year than what T8erman is saying. If you are planting shrubs/tree and doing mulching and anything considered "soft-scaping" then no application or approval. If doing anything that is "hard-scaping" then you need to submit a plan.

Again, get clarification in writing so all bases are covered. Not sure if where you live plays into this exactly either.

not that I meant to jump on you there, but I read his question differently, in that the landscaping was a project by itself. He used the patio and deck as examples....

so, my answer was assuming that he wanted to put in some new mulch beds, plant some bushes and perhaps a new cherry tree kinda project.

Not that those design guidelines aren't rockin',

And thanks by the way, for approving my retaining wall and patio project last year. You will have to come over and see the results!

Zeratul, you are correct, I re-read the original post and I can easily see where it could be construed as a separate project.

If that is the case, then approval is NOT required. However, I would advise everyone read the "Specific Guidelines" section as to what is allowable.
