Was just at a pool party in McLean and they had a poster up with each life guard's picture and name. Seems like a simple and pretty nice thing to have.

just curious.. did the owners run the pool?

Remember, we 'outsource' our pool management to NV Pools, that includes the lifeguards.

Curious.. why would you be interested in the info?

I would like to see a manager photo/name/number type of thing.. but I don't see a need (personally) for the individual guards.

Well Flynnibus, this is one of the rare times I would have to disagree with you. Say I want to file a complaint regarding something a lifeguard did, it's a lot easier to say "I saw Mike doing X-Y-Z on Thursday", as opposed to "I saw the blond haired lifeguard do X-Y-Z"...

No need for a full name, but at least a picture and first name would be good. Also adds a level of "personal" attention, rapport, etc.

    Just my 2.5 cents...

I doubt the pool management is outsourced, but don't know for sure.

I think it would promote a friendlier atmosphere. Yes, you could complain about someone by name; but, also compliment them and say hello/goodbye by name.

Actually Broadlands does indeed outsource to NVPools so it would be up to the company not the HOA to put up a board with pictures. Also putting up a teenager's phone number (especially teenage girls) would NOT be a good idea at all. Also why would you only need a photo board to complain about the guards? What about compliments?

My outsource comment was with respect to the local pool I visited that had the photos and names of their lifegurads posted. And I'm not sure where the notion of a phone number came up, that was never part of my suggestion.

My daughters' gymnastics school posts the photos and names of all the instructors as well. I think it's just a good customer service practice to create a friendlier atmosphere.

I'm not sure why posting names became associated with complaints. We know people will complain even if they don't know the names.
