About $79 a month for an individual, $125 for a couple, an additional $6 per month per child under 12. I don't know how much they charge for kids over 12.

There's going to be a Sport & Health built in Brambleton (completed this summer). Those are good too.

And is Gold's still building there as well, I wonder?

i've taught classes at both S & h and Lifetime- both are excellent. which one is better depends on the amenities you are looking for, but a gym experience os only as good as the motivation of the member! :)

Then where are they building their new club? I used to be a member before Lifetime opened and they told me they're building a new one... I thought it was Brambleton but could certainly be mistaken.

Golds is supposedly opening a center with a pool by South Riding. I also heard LA Fitness is going to be by the new Wegmans off of 7.

If you go to the Lifetime Fitness website, you can print out a week pass. Our family has loved it.

We were going to Fitness First because its location was great, but that place easily gets full with such a limited quantity of equipment. We joined Lifetime Fitness last weekend and absolutely love it!! It blows FF away by a long shot (as well as Gold's, where I went until Fitness First opened).

We were members at Fitness First as well, then switched when LifeTime opened. The amenities are terrific, and the child care is top notch (although it can get crowded during certain times of the week).

Switching was a no-brainer and it was definitely worth the price increase.

Does anyone know what the family membership option is at Lifetime (two adults, one 15 year old)? Also, does it ever get to the point when it's so crowded that you have to wait for the equipment?

Our friends just joined w/ 2 adults and 2 kids (14 and 17) and they are paying $160. Don't know if it's cheaper with just one kid. I have never seen it so crowded that you need to wait for equipment but sometimes the classes look really crowded. It was pretty bad right after new years but it seems to have gotten a little quieter.

That's pretty hefty for a month
I have always preferred women's only gyms, but they lack more amenities - like an indoor pool, which I need for my knees. At Trinity I was paying $85 per month for me and I thought THAT was too high.

If your kids are under 12 I believe you pay the Couples membership rate $129 plus $6 per kid.... If your kids are 12 and older you need the Family membership.

They have a singles rate, couples rate and then it's $159 for a family of any size(kids over 12) so it really begins to pay off the more kids you have........any child under 12 is an additional $6 until they turn 12, then will basically be "free" as they're then added into the $159 price.

There are times that I don't get the exact weight bench I want, or I have to wait a few minutes for the exact leg press I want (there are several but I'm picky!) or something like that. There has been one time I've shared a lane in the lap pool, but that was early afternoon on a Saturday when it's as crowded as it ever gets. I also know the person who asked to share a lane with me, and one opened up about 10 minutes later so we spread out. But I've never had to wait for a treadmill, an elliptical, not gotten a spot in a class I planned to attend, etc.
