In Congressman Frank Davis's email to me (i get them as a registered user of his site) he had this notice, so I'm passing i on to whoever can use it.

    Job Fair
I understand that many folks are feeling the brunt of the recession and some in our area unfortunately have lost their jobs. To help, I am sponsoring a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, at the Loudoun County School Board Office, located at 21000 Education Court in Ashburn. The job fair is free and open to all 10th District residents. To date, over 40 federal agencies and private sector employers are lined up to be available to talk about job opportunities. A full list of representatives, as well as directions to the event, are available here. More details will be provided as the date draws closer, but if you have questions, please contact my Herndon office at (703) 709-5800.

The job fair today seemed to be very well attended. My house borders on Broadlands Blvd and the number of cars I saw trying to drive onto Education Court was unbelievable! It was bumper to bumper cars turning onto Education Court for well over two hours and then a steady flow of traffic after that! The neighborhood off of Stonewheel Way was used for parking too. I even allowed someone to park in my driveway! It was overwhelming and very humbling to see how many people were there today looking for work.

What an awesome neighbor you are! I, too, hope that many people were able to find jobs yesterday.

I know someone who attended and he said he arrived at 9:45 and had to wait outside for about 1 1/2 hours just to get in. And, it rained while all of those people were in line for that amount of time. Definitely a sign of the times - a lot of people out of work.
