Need Help! Looking for PART TIME IN-HOME ABA THERAPIST

    Give the gift of communication! Want to make a difference in a special boy's life? We are looking for a caring, patient, and energetic therapist to provide in-home ABA therapy for our 4-year-old who is non-verbal. Therapist will be working one-on-one with our son to implementing an in-home therapy program designed and supervise by a Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Required Training will be provided. The therapists must enjoy working with children, have a lot of patience, dedication, are creative, playful, positive, reliable, and flexible. Therapists would implement and record progress on the provided training program and the child's progress to be reviewed with the parents and licensed therapist. The overall goal is to build the skills the child needs for independent learning in a normal 1st grade classroom in 2 years. He is delayed in speech, social skills, and class room skills. He doesn't have any behavioral issues, but it will take energy and creativity to keep him interested in therapy activities.

    DUTIES:
    Start with couple of paid ABA training. Licensed therapist will continue as your supervisor in shaping therapy goals and techniques, and monthly status meetings.
    Provide 1 on 1, in-home ABA therapy for our 4yr old son for 8-10hr / week.
    Use interesting activities, toys, books, and objects from our collection or your own to help with engagement. Creation of teaching materials and refinement of the teaching program.
    Skills building may include social skills, sitting and listening, independent eating, appropriate classroom behavior, etc.
    Conduct Behavioral Assessments with progress reports and other data collection.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Be able to keep the child engaged and progressing with creative and adaptive therapy activities. Be strongly self-motivated and adaptive to the changing child.
    Have reliable transportation/vehicle
    Have excellent oral English skills, and writing skills
    Reliability is VERY important. You must be available to start immediately and continue for entire 2012-2013 school year.

    QUALIFICATIONS: At least one of the following:
    Prior ABA therapy experience (Experience working with young children with special needs)
    OR (in case of no experience)
    Have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours of college coursework in psychology, education, SLP, OT, Psychology, special education, social work, behavioral sciences, human development or related fields and be currently enrolled in a course of study leading to an associates or bachelor’s degree by an accredited college or university.

    HOURS: 8-10 hours per week, in 1-2 hour sessions. Flexible scheduling within time blocks below.
    Summer time blocks: M-F 2-6pm, Sat 10am-6pm
    School year time blocks: M-F from 4-7pm (after school hours), possibly 9-10AM. Sat 10am-6pm.

    LOCATION: In-home therapy in Ashburn, VA (Northern VA area)
