One of the things I miss the most about New England was scenic Sunday drives. I have found a few around here so far and hope to hear from others:

1-RT 7 west to Blue Ridge Mountain Rd southbound in Snickers Gap, past Mount Weather (google it if you are not familiar) and down to RT 50 East thru Middleburg (lots of nice drives around Middleburg too). This is the snowiest road in Loudoun if you are a snowbug, and when it's raining here they can be getting snow at nearly 2000' in elevation. Also, Snickers Gap Christmas Tree farm is a beautiful spot to cut your own tree.

2- Pick up Old Waterford off rt 7 in downtown Leesburg and follow it north up to Waterford. Road turns to dirt, but is smooth and some beautiful farms and countryside, some of the nicest I've seen around here.
