Protect Yourself, Beware of Imposters!

Loudoun Water cautions customers to be aware of individuals who falsely claim to be Loudoun Water employees and request access to their homes or businesses to collect water quality samples or perform other work. Protect yourself and your home from imposters with the following facts:

• Our employees in the field always wear a Loudoun Water uniform shirt and carry an ID badge.
• All Loudoun Water vehicles display the utility's logo.
• The majority of Loudoun Water business in the community is conducted outside of homes.
• Loudoun Water employees NEVER:
  • Initiate an in-home visit without a scheduled appointment
  • Conduct financial transactions or ask for personal information in the field
  • Perform unscheduled/emergency response/investigative work without proper ID

Most importantly, do not allow anyone into your home if you are uncomfortable or suspicious.
Report Suspected Imposters
If you have any questions about whether a person at your door is a Loudoun Water employee, then please call the Customer Service department at 571.291.7880 and they will verify if we are performing work in your area. Our normal business hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We respond to emergency requests only after hours and on the weekends, and we do not make routine residential visits outside of regular business hours unless previously arranged. After hours we have an answering service available who can also put you in touch with our on-call staff if you wish to verify work being performed.
