    Greetings,
Santa will be visiting the Broadlands Nature Center on Friday, Dec. 3rd from 5-9pm. **Please note, you will need to bring your own cameras this year as there will not be a tech committee representative taking pictures**
We will again have a craft room set up for those waiting to see Santa and we will also have tasty treats for everyone.

We hope to have AVFD stop by with one of their trucks and we may also have Eagle Ridge Middle School's Chorus serenading us again!

We could use a few volunteers to help manage the line to see Santa. If interested, please pm me.
    Thanks!

surprised they cut such a popular event to only the one night. i figured at least they would keep the morning session as most younger ones are not in a good mood after 4pm!

you are right Redon - there were not enough vounteers available for the Sat session...don't want the residents thinking it was the big, bad, mean HOA is playing Scrooge!

We've added a strolling magician to entertain everyone while waiting to see santa!

and yes, volunteers are an issue--we have only 3 so far to help with the masses on friday.

My (insane) wife took our 3 children, plus two other kids that were visiting by herself last night. (I was on a plane). She said that while it was very crazy with the number of people at first she was impressed at how incredibly well organized it was and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely (except the baby who apparently thought Santa was going to eat him). So thanks to all the organizers. Really nice work!

You are funny but I *MUST* say that you guys rock...you guys make it possible for kids to have a GREAT time. ITs always about the kids..not the adults.

My wife and I are amazed how great of a job you guys do ... movies for kids during summers, Santa for the kids, and more. You guys really are greatly appreciated whether you all know it or not.

Thanks for such a nice event. It was great to see all our littlest neighbors all dressed up.

I haven't yet received an email with the photo URL, since they ended up doing photos...wondering if I got missed?

We haven't gotten the email either, so hopefully they just haven't sent it yet.

I agree - the crowd was overwhelming but the kids had a great time - job well done!

thank you all for the positive feedback! we certainly couldn't have pulled this off without the help of our friends and neighbors!

I haven't seen an email with a link to the photos as of yet. I'm guessing maybe in the next day or so we might see one. Steve and Sean need to type all of the emails in by hand, so it could take a little time considering the number of families that came through the event on friday night. When i do receive an email i'll post a note here and if you didn't receive a link you can pm me.

    thanks again and happy holidays!

I hope that next year, everyone remembers how MUCH these holiday events- that are run by volunteers- are appreciated and taken advantage of, and just a few more people will volunteer next year.

you'd be surprised at 1) how little time is expected of you as a volunteer and 2) what a HUGE difference one body can make and 3) how rewarding and TRULY FUN it is to volunteer on HOA committees.

i've been an HOA Event Committee volunteer for 4 years now and our events chairwoman has been beyond amazing at making it a seamless, effortless and FUN blip in time to be a volunteer. i hope she comes back for 2011.

i have a family, a full time job, a part time job and vey little free time, but somehow, carving out a few nights a quarter to volunteer for a neighborhood event has always been plausible and WORTH IT.

make it a new year's resolution and just join ONE committee for ONE event in 2011- you will LOVE the experience and the Broadlands will benefit from your involvement!
