Has anyone here bought a mattress set from the seller on Craigslist who advertises several sets of new or like new mattresses each week?

Curious to know if the seller is reliable (in terms of quality of goods).

    Thanks in advance.

Mattresses from stores have pretty shady reputations, I would imagine a "mattress guy" on craigslist would be even worse =) Have you checked clubs like Sams/Costco/BJs?

Does this mattress guy get his beds from ShadeAcres 66 or the Four Seasons?

I'd guess it depends on how used they are.

I remember an expose on 20/20 or Dateline where shady mattress dealers would pick up used/filthy mattresses at the curb and recover them and resell them. It was disgusting. Here's a link that should make you think twice...http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/mattress_mafia.html:eww:

We found a good deal at the Mattress Discounters in Herndon on or near Eldon. Check them out. They spend lots of time with you to figure out the best match!

We went to that mattress discounters in herndon....wasn't a big fan. although the mattress industry is extremely shady. when we found the mattress we liked, we wrote down the model and price to go price compare---guess what---no one else carried it. We ended up buying one from the mattress discounters in Vienna, where i didn't feel like the guy was bending me over the mattress he was selling me.

We got our guest room mattress at Costco, paid less than 1/3 the price, and bought probably the single most comfortable mattress ever made. i've considered moving into the guest room. they don't delivery, but the only thing the delivery guys from Mattress discountered did was tear my walls up bringing up the box spring.

Does Macy's still sell beds? We bought some from them several years ago. They were online and via phone only - not in the stores. We got a good price and good mattresses. Sorry I can't remember more details.
