Does anyone know if our trash company would pick up a washing machine? It may or may not work (long story) and I can't stand to look at it my garage anymore!

If anyone is making a trip to the dump and has room for a washer ;), I would be very</u> appreciative if they would be willing swing by my house and pick it up!!!

    Thanks! :)

Our contract with AAA states that they will pick up items for a fee not to exceed $25 (which the homeowner will pay), you will need to contact them to set up a pickup time.

thanks for the info Neil. I told them I live in Broadlands and they quoted me $40. I had to "remind" them of the $25 cap and they said "ok". Good thing I knew that!!

Oh well, the washer will be put out to pasture finally. Thanks! :)

So - our trash company will pick up anything? Like furniture, bikes, etc. for a fee?

Quote: All furniture and other large, nonmetal household items placed on the common area (curbside) for removal will be picked up at no charge. Ferrous metal/white goods items, such as appliances, will be picked up by appointment with additional billing (not to exceed $25). Unquote.

That is the current contract, and, from what Wes just told me, will be in the next contract which begins March 1st.

Now, if I could just get them to replace my recycle bin that disappeared several weeks ago.

    Our calls go unreturned...

Can I pick one up somewhere?

Call Wes to let him know that they are not taking care of this issue.

We just moved in -- when is trash pick up? I notice that some (not all) have company trash cans -- is it required or can we use our own?

Trash pickup days are Tuesdays and Fridays ... Recycle items are picked up Wednesdays ... I believe you can use your own ..but they will send you one if you call them ...

or you can just NOT buy one like most of the people on our street who just put all their trash bags and stuff on the curb...which in turn causes it to blow all over the neighborhood...which in turn causes me and a few other people to pick it up for them since they obviously don't care.

Hmmm. I'm sensing a little bit of sarcasm here. (Ya think?)

They would find their trash back on their front door step if my "neighbor" did this.

when my trashcan is too full.. I put the bags on the curb.. without problems with trash blowing around. Maybe put blame where its due (operator error).

... for a fee. When we moved to our new place in the Broadlands, we didn't have one. We were told that there's a monthly fee to get one so we just use our own. I guess it didn't used to be that way. Ah the good old days when trash cans were free... ;)

if you're in a SFH, I believe it's covered by what we pay in HOA fees. Call the HOA office and ask Wes. the trash company people don't know (or bother to read) each agreement. That's evident by the variance in special trash removal prices.

My wife is correct ... each single family housing unit is ISSUED a trash container from AAA. If you have not received one, call Wes Schroeder, and he will assist in obtaining one for you.

AAA is also required to replace trash containers as they wear and become unservicable. If your container is falling apart, top falling off, wheels gone, etc. Call AAA, and they will send a replacement and pick up the old container.

The only reasons trash should be at the curb in only plastic bags are:

    1. It is excess trash and will not fit in the container.
    2. They have not received their container

Townhouses do not get a container as part of their HOA dues. Part of the reason is that the containers provided are too large to be stored in any TH garage and still get a car inside. Thus it was left to the TH owner to find a recepticle that would fit in their garage.

Golfnut ... if you are in SFH, and AAA told you that you must pay a fee for a container, call Wes and he'll straighten them out.
