So I'm sitting in Starbucks - cruising the web, reading email, etc via TMobile on my PDA (Dell Axim 30).

Bored, so I check out the bluetooth manager on my PDA. It shows a T610 (or whatever) cell phone in the area. I click on it and it "connects" and up come some options. I quickly disable the bluetooth (disconnect), since I don't have clue what I'm doing.

    Here are my questions...

    1) Does the owner of the phone KNOW I've connected to his phone? Does it beep or something?
    2) Reciprocally - can others theoretically then browse around my PDA?
    3) Is there a way to lock out snooping bluetoothers from accessing my PDA?
    4) Could I have checked out his phonebook?

Scary thoughts - for now, I'm disabling my bluetooth on wireless enable...

    1. yah, my T637 plays a melody when someone wants to connect, but you probably weren't actually connected as both devices are usually required to enter a PIN code to pair up
    2. depends on how you have bluetooth set up on your pda...if no authentication is required, then yes.
    3. turn off bluetooth if you don't use it with any of your other equipment
    4. no, not on an T6xx, unless you have phone management software installed (like some sort of sync program)
