Do I need to go through the HOA for approval to add to my driveway? My dilema is I live in the Cedarwood model in Southern Walk and all Cedarwood and Spruce models have a nice big rectangular driveway except mine. I share a driveway with another house but instead of extending my driveway straight out from the garage they made it a curve. So access to the driveway in front of the garage is limited causing us and the neighbors drive on a portion of my front lawn. Adding pavement would not change the appearance of our driveway from the rest of the neighborhood but make it blend right in. Thanks in advance for any input.

    I'd start here..

    http://hoa.broadlands.org/committees/committees.htm

Goto the Modifications committee and give Maureen a call and she can put you in contact with the proper folks. My guess (only a guess.. I'm no authority) would be that you would need approval.

Very true ... it must be approved before you can do anything.

Quote: Any clearing, grading, construction or improvements must be reviewed and approved by the Modifications Subcommittee prior to implementation. Such construction or improvements include any visible additions, alterations, or modifications to the exterior of properties or homes within Broadlands, whether permanent or temporary. Unquote.

Changing the size of a driveway certainly complies, and is covered on page 25 of the design guidelines, which you should have received as part of the home package.
