Network Engineer Level 2 with Data Center Cabling Experience (fiber and copper)

G&B Solutions, Inc. has an opportunity for a Junior Network Engineer in Washington, DC.

Jr. Network engineer with principal tasks to be solely responsible for a government facility's network cabling infrastructure and deployment of network switches. The individual will be responsible for following processes and procedures for managing operational needs.

Must possess the following:

Fiber cable creation
Knowledge of cabling best practices and testing tools and methodologies
Network switch deployment
Knowledge of VLANs and port security
Qualifications Required
At least two (2) years experience operations and maintenance of a computer network.
At least one (1) year experience in deploying computer system applications in a client/server network environment.
Knowledge of computer network telecommunications, Windows Server operating systems, and TCP/IP protocol.
Knowledge of network management protocols and related standard tools.
Knowledge of network-based application software such as Exchange and Oracle.
Knowledge of telecommunications, network, and computer security issues and established security practices.
Experience with supporting PKI and supporting technologies
Experience troubleshooting network problems and providing solutions
Knowledge of network packet capture tools
Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation
