I just wanted to say I was extremely disappointed in this months newsletter. Being that I was unable to make the developers meeting, as I am sure there were others, I was looking forward to having an update in the newsletter. The only thing it said was that if you missed the meeting you missed an update on all the things going on. Well, that dosen't help me. I believe that it is the responsibility of the HOA to inform the residents of what is the latest information from the developers via the newsletter, this website or another means.

I also would have liked to see more complete coverage, but I understand the staff were all involved in presenting rather than reporting this particular time. In my opinion, coverage of such meetings should be done by a resident. I used to cover these meetings for the newsletter several years ago - it doesn't take much time to do. Anyone interested in writing articles should contact the newsletter editor at newsletter@hoa.broadlands.org.

FWIW ... we're looking to hold another such informational meeting in the first quarter of the new year, and are planning to do these types of informational meetings in the Spring, Fall and Winter, with the annual HOA meeting as the meeting for the Summer.

Also understand that these informational meetings are just that, informational and not official HOA meetings. Thus minutes are not kept, nor are any decisions made. They are designed as a way to keep the residents informed about what is happening within the Broadlands with information coming directly from the developers, with a period of Q&A.

We encourage all residents to have one of the homeowners attend to get the word directly.

Neil - Not everyone has the ability to goto these meetings. That's why it would be nice to see the information printed in the newsletter. I understand that no decisions are made and the meeting is just informative, but I'd rather see some information provided to the rest of the community via another source other than telling me to come to the meeting.

Are these meetings held in an arena large enough to hold 1 member of every household in the Broadlands? Maybe common sense should enter here and call forth of an HOA board member to take notes and inform the residents they represent.

Anyway we could videotape or have an audio recording of these types of meetings and put them on the website? I too was unable to attend, but would of been nice to see or hear a replay of it.

    A comment.......
This was a "Developer's Update" and not an HOA function. In the past, the Developer (Terrabrook) was the one that provided an update for the newsletter whenever they conducted an update. Obviously, Van Metre did not do this.

On a different note, have you noticed that all the HOT TOPICS on the HOA website are ages old. I mean, we are the on-line community.... It could be kept up to date (monthly newsletters are by definition not up to date).
