Looking for a good OB/GYN doctor here in the Ashburn area. Anyone got someone good they use and want to recommend? It would help if they had evening office hours or at least take 5pm appts. Thanks!

Perfectly Female in the Professional Plaza - across from the Ashburn Farm Giant. 703-726-9000. All female Dr's in the practice - Dr. Felluca is great.

I love Women Physician's of Northern Virginia. They have both midwives & OB/GYN dr's. I got appt in the late afternoon (after 4pm usually). They deliver at Reston. They have offices in Ashburn Village (upstairs in Giant building), Reston, & Fairfax.

Dr. Ivey-Crowe is wonderful. She did my c-section. Karen Partlow, midwife, was wonderful too.

I've heard really good things about Perfectly Female and Dr. Felluca as well. I have several friends that go to the docs in that practice. Good luck!

I have used Womens Physicians for the last few years, but will not continue going to them. I love Karen Partlow (the midwife). My beef is with their billing department. They started billing me in July 2004 for services rendered (which were covered under insurance) in February 2002. I called and left 2 messages in July, never received a return call. Got billed again in August, left a message, never received a return call. Finally, when I was billed again in September, I e-mailed them and received a response the following day. It was very frustrating to the point I thought they were going to ruin my credit and I was going to have to sue them. Oh, the response I got from them was "per our agreement with you, you are responsible to pay for anything that insurance does not cover". The reason my insurance was refusing to pay is because it took them over 2 years to bill the insurance, in violation of the agreement with THEM. So, I too am looking for a new OB/GYN.

I love Loudoun Community Midwives. Two of those midwives were with Women's Healthcare until not too long ago. They are now they're own entity but do have a close relationship with medical doctors. Here's their website:

I have to second the glowing praises posted above about Loudoun Community Midwives. Margie Brandquist and Wendy Dotson were constant (and comforting!) presences at the births of my children and I can't say enough wonderful things about them. They are intelligent, caring, compassionate, and know a thing or two about birthing babies. I continue to see them for my well woman visits and have recommended them to many of my friends. Good luck!

Does anyone have updated obstetrician recommendations? (There's a separate GYN thread somewhere.)

Any comments about delivery at Loudoun or Reston?

    Thanks.

I've delivered at Reston twice. This last time was in the new birthing area, and the changes are wonderful. The OR/C-Section room was much better. It does not have a hospital feel to it all, it felt like a hotel. The food was OK, but you can't expect much there.

I used Women Physicians again for my second child.

I used Women's Physicians out of Reston for 2 births (used midwives) and Dr. Ivey-Crowe did my hysterectomy! I really liked it there. Don't really go much anymore since I'm done having babies!

I recommend Women Physicians of Northern Virginia as well. They no longer have midwives in the practice, though. All four doctors are wonderful, as is the Physician's Assistant. They use only Reston Hospital for deliveries. The new maternity wing is fantastic! All rooms are private and they have a very attentive nursing staff.

Ditto the Women Physician's recommendation. Dr Mazarei delivered my baby and she was AWESOME. So down to earth and encouraging, and she has the best sense of humor. Dr. Ivey-Crowe is excellent too. Reston hospital was really nice to deliver at. As the previous poster said, it's all new and has more of a "hotel" feel to it.
