Thought this would be an interesting topic. I enjoy grilling and I'm always in the market for good marinades. Now I realize the die-hards out there like to make their own from scratch - I really don't have time or patience. As such, I'm always on the lookout for grocery shelf marinades that don't taste like a salt lick or maple syrup.

I found an excellent one this month and thought I'd publicize it so others will buy it and Harris Teeter will continue to stock it. Jimmy Sauce is a beef marinade that we tried randomly and absolutely loved. We just threw it on a couple of steaks in a plastic bag for about 12 hours - excellent flavor.

I'd love to hear any other favorites/recommendations out there.

Just tried one called Cheriyaki -- it's in a square-ish bottle, can't remember the name of the manufacturer, but I think it's "Taste of [something]". It's a teriyaki sauce made with cherries, and it was very tasty with chicken. It did, however, dye the diced chicken so that it ended up looking like strawberries. Weird, but good, and I intend to try it with salmon next.

    lawry's italian marinade
i dump the whole bottle in a baking dish full of single layer boneless skinless chicken thighs and cook on 350 for like 35-45 minutes.
yummo! we had it tonight with couscous, salad, and sauteed zuchinni (just zuchinni in a little bit of safflower oil - no salt).
i got this little couscous adaptation from harris teeter:
prepare as directed but sub juice from a can of peaches (lite) for some of the water
dice the peaches up and toss them into the couscous when it's done. good snack food- and quick!

The absolute yummiest steak marinade is Andria's! My dad orders this by the case then divvies it up between us kids. Andria's is SO good and now I want steak for breakfast!

That is the "World Harbors" sauces & marinades. We like all of the flavors we have tried. They have different flavors than many of the other brands you can buy and we haven't been disappointed yet. Great on chicken, pork chops, and more. The "Island Mango" one is good as a sweet and sour type sauce for homemade chinese food.
