Offices/retail next to Mobil Station

    I see that they have roped off the lot next to the Mobil Station at Truro Parish and Chickocoan. Anyone know more information on what is going in there? Last I remember, Cliff had said he heard "no" on the fast food -- it would most likely be a bank in the corner position. Does anyone have the latest?

    Since a Chevy Chase Bank branch is going in near the Safeway, you can eliminate that as a possibility. Now I am curious too...

    I haven't heard anything new in a while. I'll see if we can get an update for the HOA annual meeting next month (May 13).

    I saw what looks like new information posted on the Tetra site regarding the development of this property.

    According to this there will be a bank, fast food and a two story office/retail building. Seems like a lot of stuff to cram right into the middle of the existing houses. Anyone know if these plans are the latest?

    LOL! We saw a sign similar to that way before the K was built. My wife and I thought that since they said bank, gas station and fast food that the K was it. We thought the ATM was the bank, the hot dogs/ cold cuts were the fast food and obviouly the gas station. Were not sure if they were going to keep building over there, obviously they are. --- office space??? strange location, oh well.

    Hi folks-
    That site has always been proposed to have multiple buildings. The last time I spoke to the developer, Bill Lauer, he had no interest from any of the fast food restaurants and was marketing that pad site (the one on the corner of Truro Parish and Chickacoan) for a bank.
    I asked him to come to the HOA Annual Meeting this Tuesday to discuss the current plans.

    Bill Lauer was unable to make it to the HOA annual meeting last week so I am currently working through Terrabrook to get another meeting scheduled. Stay tuned for further information.

    There is a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, 7pm at the Nature Center with Bill Lauer from Tetra, the developer of the Circle K site.

    The following have been confirmed for the retail/office building:
    Beauty Salon, Nail Salon, Chinese restaurant, Dry cleaner, Doctor, and Dentist.

    Thanks for the update, Cliff.

    Any new news on the Broadlands Village Center? They haven't updated their website in a while. I am beginning to wonder if that is intentional (i.e., they are having trouble leasing space). I hope not.

    I doubt they'll have trouble filling the space. Retail sites are at a premium in Ashburn. In fact, the cost to lease retail sites in Ashburn are higher than Reston or Tyson's Corner.
    Look what happened at the new Giant Plaza in Ashburn Farms, or the new building on Ashburn Road north of Partlow's. Within a few weeks of being open, these sites were sold out.
