Does anyone have a recommendation for an orthopedist for juvenile/adolescent scoliosis? I'm not sure if I should be looking into someone who is more of a specialist or if the Dr. who treated my daughter's broken arm is just fine. (Dr. Lower of Countryside Orthopedics)

    Thanks.

Hi there. I highly recommend Dr. William Lauerman of Georgetown University Hospital. He is an Orthopedic Surgeon there and Scoliosis is one of his main areas. He performed my Spinal Fusion surgery to correct my scoliosis in Sept 06. Of course I unfortunately waited until I was an adult to deal with it but he treats children as well. Good luck. I would definitely at least find a Dr who specializes in spinal disorders...but they do tend to specialize even further...so even some that specialize in spinal disorders won't or don't treat "deformities" (as they, the drs, refer to scoliosis). I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
